Job summary

Agropur in Minnesota seeks a dependable Janitor to maintain a clean, safe work environment across the plant, following the Master Sanitation Schedule and safety practices. The role supports daily operations and collaborates with teammates to achieve quality results.

No prior experience is required as in-house training is provided. Starting wage is $18.66 per hour with two pay increases within a year, up to a total raise of $1.00.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior janitorial experience required; in-housing training provided.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety procedures.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks per sanitation schedules.
• Work safely and efficiently across plant areas including break rooms and offices.
• Keep work area and supplies organized and stocked.
• Report food safety issues to management promptly.
• Complete required documentation and records.
• Assist in pest control and winter snow removal.
• Assist in training new janitorial team members.
• Follow chemical safety protocols and PPE rules.
• Support safety policies and programs.

The Janitor performs all tasks involved in maintaining a clean work environment; adhering to the Master Sanitation Schedule and practicing safe work habits. The Janitor works in all areas of the plant as needed.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks per the Master Sanitation and Deep Cleaning Schedules.
• Perform work safely and efficiently in all areas of the plant including break rooms, locker rooms, offices, and corridors.
• Ensure work area and janitorial supplies are properly organized and maintained.
• Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
• Complete necessary paperwork to ensure all documentation requirements are met.
• Assist in executing pest control program and monitoring facility.
• Complete non-routine cleaning/sanitation tasks as assigned.
• Assist in the training/mentoring of newly hired janitorial team members.
• Assist in snow removal and management during winter months.
• Adhere to chemical safety protocols and site PPE requirements.

• Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
• Correct or report any observed safety hazards.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
