Responsibilities

  • General cleaning of restrooms, lunchrooms, offices, shop areas and grounds; dusting, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal.
  • Carpet cleaning, floor stripping, scrubbing, waxing as needed.
  • Washes windows, doors, sills; maintains supplies.
  • Report spills and leaks; support PPE compliance and safety initiatives.
  • Occasional painting and holiday/weekend coverage.
  • Light bulb replacement as needed.

Hexcel is currently seeking a Janitor for our Kent, WA USA location.

Summary pay range: $20.00 - $25.56 hourly wage rate.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • General cleaning of restrooms and all fixtures, cleaning of lunchrooms, office areas, shop areas and outside grounds. Includes dusting, use of cleaning chemicals, wet and dry mops, vacuum cleaners, floor scrubber, emptying of trash containers and transport trash and waste to disposal area etc.
  • Carpet cleaning and stripping, scrubbing, and waxing of floors and aisle ways and other work areas.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Maintain cleaning materials inventory. Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Report spills and leaks immediately.
  • Proactively support and comply with the Safety & Environmental Management Systems requirements. Support safety & environmental initiatives; walk through audits, training, communications, and incident investigations.
  • Willing and able to use proper safety equipment and wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Occasional painting throughout the facility.
  • Working over the Holiday shutdown and a rotational weekend duty coverage.
  • Changing light bulbs where reachable with only a ladder.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, a copy of which may be required if Hexcel is unable to verify attainment of the degree.
  • Limited cleaning experience needed, with the desire to learn and do. Experience working in industrial cleaning is highly preferred.
  • Must be trained or willing to be trained in handling and clean-up of blood-borne pathogens. Janitorial personnel are first responders for cleaning up blood.
  • Must be able to work with computers, chemicals, sealants, paints, and cleaners on a regular basis.
  • Able to work all shifts.
  • A post-offer drug test and physical is required.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; have manual dexterity; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Must have a current Drivers License and be able to obtain a license to operate a forklift.
