Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton seeks a reliable janitor to perform cleaning duties across facilities, including trash removal, bathroom sanitation, stocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and floor care in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash receptacles and clean bathrooms.

• Sweep and mop floors, vacuum, dust, and perform floor care.
• Assist with flood-related cleanup, snow removal, and other cleaning tasks as needed.

D505 janitors duties and responsibilities consist of but are not limited to, emptying of trash receptacles, cleaning of bathrooms, stocking of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers, sweeping and mopping of floors, vacuuming, flooring projects, clean-up of blood-borne pathogens and HWM, carpet extraction operations, dusting, placement of sandbags in flood prone areas, flood restorations, cleaning of litter, emptying of cigarette but containers, working with cleaning chemicals, NPPI shredding operations, weed whacking, sanitizing and disinfecting, working in buildings with noelevators having to use stairs to use and being essential personnel for snow and deicing operations.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent


• 1+ years of cleaning experience


• Ability to walk up and down stairs routinely is required.


• Have experience and ability to work with cleaning and disinfecting products.


• Be flexible to work assignment locations.

Preferred:

• Experience cleaning in an industrial/commercial/manufacturingsetting


• Snow removal and deicing experience


• Working daily and weekend overtime as requested in support of assignments preferred
