Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of janitorial/custodial experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Ability to safely use janitorial equipment and cleaning products.
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize cleanliness, safety, or equipment concerns.
• Professional and respectful communication skills.
• Ability to accept direction and work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas, offices, utility rooms, and other designated areas throughout the community.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and maintain clean, sanitary spaces.
• Clean floors, surfaces, fixtures, and other areas as assigned.
• Operate standard janitorial and housekeeping equipment after receiving appropriate training.
• Follow proper safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals, hazardous materials, and bodily substances.
• Follow infection control and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Identify maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns and communicate them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and installing or tightening knobs on doors and cabinets.
• Complete required documentation accuratelyMaintain a high standard of cleanliness with no visible dust, debris, or unnecessary clutter.
• Work independently while also supporting the needs of the department and broader community.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
