Job summary

Challenge Unlimited is seeking a dedicated Janitor for evening shifts at our Fort Cavazos site. You will help maintain clean, safe spaces by cleaning bathrooms, offices, and common areas while following safety procedures.

The role supports a DOL apprenticeship opportunity and provides basic benefits. The pay rate is $17.75 per hour, with a schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings, and time off on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize and restock bathrooms and offices; sweep/mop floors.

• Dust and clean desks and furniture; clean windowsills and windows.
• Clean break rooms and meat room as applicable.
• Assist in warehouse tasks and move carts as needed.
• Operate equipment safely and contribute to teamwork.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager and Supervisor, the Janitor is responsible for developing work skills and performing work at the assigned site.

• Pay Rate: $17.75 per hour
• Monday 10:00pm - until job is complete
• Tuesday 10:00pm - until job is complete
• Thursday 10:00pm - job is complete
• Saturday 10:00pm - job is complete
• Off - Sunday, Wednesday and Friday

Typical Duties:

• Clean, sanitize and restock bathrooms including sinks, toilets, glass and mirrors, stall walls, stainless steel and sweeping and mopping floors. Vacuum, sweep, mop floors and stairs.
• Empty trash and various recyclable cans and replace liners, clean receptacles, as necessary.
• Dust and clean office areas, desks and furniture that are not cluttered. Clean windowsills and windows. Obtain tools necessary for the job to be completed.
• Clean break rooms and other areas that are applicable to the contract
• Clean and sanitize meat room
• Work in the warehouse
• Push and pull a banded bale of cardboard
• Gather and move shopping carts by hand and using the cart manager
• Expected to safely operate equipment
• Contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers
• Continually performs duties with a special focus on safety, quality and customer service
