Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a dedicated janitor to ensure cleanliness and presentation of our community sites. Under the Service Maintenance Manager, you will perform janitorial duties across interior and exterior areas five days a week in office environments in Schenectady, NY.

You should be able to communicate in English, hold a valid driver's license, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds. We offer competitive benefits and a stable work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must communicate effectively in English.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash cans and clean windows, walls, floors, stairwells, and carpets as scheduled.
• Maintain exterior grounds by picking up litter and managing trash areas.
• Assist maintenance with landscaping: sweeping sidewalks, raking, planting flowers and mulch.
• Clean vacant apartments on turnover.
• Replace smoke/CO batteries and light bulbs; assist with minor deficiencies.
• Help with snow removal and be available for weather-related cleanup.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Service Maintenance Manager, the Janitor is responsible for the overall cleanliness, physical appearance and presentation of the community, while maintaining a positive, productive relationship with the other team members and with residents. The Cleaner will provide janitorial duties to maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exteriors site through regular scheduled cleaning activities. This position has a requirement of five days a week in office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduled functions as emptying trash cans, cleaning windows, walls, floors, stairwells, and carpets.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior grounds by picking up litter and maintain trash areas.
• Support maintenance staff in landscaping activities including sweeping sidewalks, raking, planting flowers and installing mulch.
• Perform cleaning of vacant apartments on turnover.
• Perform smoke/co battery replacements, light bulb replacements and support on minor deficiencies.
• Assist in snow removal activities and be available for cleanup during weather events.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across sites.
• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
