The Community Builders is seeking a dedicated Janitor to support our properties in New York. Under the direction of the Service Maintenance Manager, you will maintain the interior and exterior presentation of the community, ensuring clean, safe spaces for residents and staff.

This full-time role requires five days a week in office, with responsibilities from trash and window cleaning to turnover cleaning of vacant apartments, plus basic maintenance tasks and snow removal support as needed.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Physical demands: move up to 50 pounds and work outdoors.

• Assist in snow removal and be available during weather events.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Service Maintenance Manager, the Janitor is responsible for the overall cleanliness, physical appearance and presentation of the community, while maintaining a positive, productive relationship with the other team members and with residents. The Cleaner will provide janitorial duties to maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exteriors site through regular scheduled cleaning activities. This position has a requirement of five days a week in office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduled functions as emptying trash cans, cleaning windows, walls, floors, stairwells, and carpets.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior grounds by picking up litter and maintain trash areas.
• Support maintenance staff in landscaping activities including sweeping sidewalks, raking, planting flowers and installing mulch.
• Perform cleaning of vacant apartments on turnover.
• Perform smoke/co battery replacements, light bulb replacements and support on minor deficiencies.
• Assist in snow removal activities and be available for cleanup during weather events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across sites.
• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
