Fora is seeking a part-time Janitor to maintain clean, safe, and orderly offices and restrooms across multiple locations in Albany, NY. The role supports the organization’s mission to provide inclusive employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting, and performing minor maintenance tasks, with emphasis on safety and punctuality. Flexibility with shift timings and travel between sites is required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, kneel, or crouch to access hard-to-reach areas; and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work hours may vary based on site needs, weather conditions, or special events, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, safe handling of products, and use of equipment such as vacuums.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently; work independently or as part of a team; adapt to changing environments and/or locations within the contract, schedules, and seasonal duties.

  • Support snow and ice removal during winter months, including shoveling, spreading ice melt, and ensuring safe entryways and walkways.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • Participate in supervision meetings, training, and required safety programs.
  • Follow all policies outlined in the site procedures manual and Fora Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain a workplace free of harassment, discrimination, and unsafe conditions.
  • Report concerns regarding safety, harassment, or discrimination to a supervisor, operations manager or HR.
