Job Title: Janitor

Rate of Pay: $15.00 - $16.25/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Janitor responsible for janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of our sports complex and grounds. Key responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks according to local building and fire codes.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of entrances, grounds, and parking lot, including:
• Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Maintain checklists, records, and reports for:
• Change room cleanliness
• Window cleanliness
• Washroom and shower cleaning
• Parking lot and property cleaning
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing following established floor care procedures
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed
• Support ice maintenance during peak periods, short staffing, or as required

Education and Knowledge Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (asset)
• Valid driver’s license (asset)
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)
• Previous experience as a commercial janitor (preferred)
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and call-outs
• Excellent communication skills and team orientation (verbal and written)
