Job summary

FLIK Hospitality is hiring a Custodial Janitor for Rowling Hall at UT Austin. The role requires Monday-Saturday availability from 4-10:30PM to maintain public areas and restrooms, including windows, trash removal, and floor care.

You will follow OSHA-compliant cleaning procedures, complete daily checklists, and coordinate with the Custodial Manager for assignments. The position emphasizes guest satisfaction and diligent upkeep of facilities.

Responsibilities

• Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and FLIK standards and requirements.
• Review and complete checklist throughout the day. Check with Custodial Manager for additional assignments or projects throughout the scheduled shift.
• Organize work duty priorities.
• Review assigned area and complete general removal of any trash or debris on floors; maintain cleanliness and organization of closets; restocking of supplies; remove trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and mop floor; remove non-floor closet items and transport to proper storage areas.
• Clean designated areas with proper tools and equipment.
• Ensure that nothing is stored in stairwells.
• Transport any food and beverage trays/items in public areas to service areas.
• Check under furniture for debris and remove if present; reposition furniture to correct floor plan.
• Inspect condition of all furniture for tears, rips and stains and report damages to Manager; check for any missing items; dust and polish all woodwork.
• Remove all dust, debris and foreign particles from upholstered furniture, including crevices and under cushions.
• Remove dust, spots and smears from windows, frames and ledges; wash windows as assigned.
• Remove dust, dirt, marks and fingerprints from doors and doorframes.
• Remove stains, scuff marks, and dust from baseboards, ledges and corners.
• Polish all brass and chrome surfaces to a high gloss.
• Empty trash containers, ashtrays, & ash urns in all public area.
• Use designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment to clean various floor surfaces (mops, vacuums) Clean floor mats. Remove debris from elevator tracks.
• Empty vacuum cleaner bags, replace and clean machines.
• Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from public and employee bathroom mirrors, vanities, sinks, toilets/urinals, shower walls, shower curtains and floors.
• Replace facial and toilet tissues, paper hand towels, soaps in correct amount and location.
• Ensure guest satisfaction.
