Bureau of Prisons in Aurora, Colorado seeks experienced corrections leadership to oversee complex programs, supervise staff, and advance policy and training initiatives for inmate services and reentry efforts.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience and a proven ability to manage correctional programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and coordinate with senior officials on program priorities.

Competenze

• Specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level is required and must be directly related to correctional programs, or experience interacting with inmates and staff in a correctional environment.
• Supervisory or administrative duties must be demonstrated, including understanding custody, treatment, training, and release issues; knowledge of internal policies, programs, and procedures; training subordinates; coordinating and directing activities; and evaluating performance.
• GS-14: experience monitoring correctional/jail operations, policy development, and contacts with professional jail-related organizations.
• GS-15: experience analyzing issues for senior officials, applying policy knowledge to program development, and planning division goals.
• Selective Placement Factor: 5+ years of executive/managerial experience in correctional systems designing policy guidelines, training executives, and leveraging technology to enhance jail programs or reentry services.
