Job summary

Sauk County is seeking Deputy Jailors to join the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, protecting, serving and inspiring the community. This role focuses on jail and Huber security tasks, with opportunities to advance within the department and join special teams.

The position offers overtime and holiday pay in addition to the annual salary. New hires operate on a 4 days on, 2 days off rotating schedule with shifts 0630-1500, 1430-2300, or 2230-0700, assigned by seniority.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• U.S. citizen.
• Free of any felony or domestic abuse convictions.
• Wisconsin State Jail Certification or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain jail security with regular patrols and surveillance of inmate activities.
• Investigate inmate violations and prepare reports for review.
• Mediate inmate conflicts and manage housing unit safety.
• Supervise inmate meals, inmate movements, and visitation.

Education

Associate degree in Law Enforcement or related field
