Job summary

Iron EagleX (IEX), a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), seeks highly experienced professionals to support USSOCOM J35 Future Operations and multi‑agency contingency planning. You will lead complex planning efforts, develop capabilities, and synchronize regional and global operations with senior leaders.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance, 15+ years of related experience, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading Joint Planning Group (JPG) discussions.
• 5+ years in strategic‑level planning (e.g., operational design, military decision-making process, contingency plan development).
• Completed, one Joint Staff, combatant command, or multi‑national staff tour.
• Graduate of a Joint Professional Military Education course, Intermediate Development Course, or a Senior Professional Military Education Course.
• 10+ years experience communicating in writing and verbally to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and provide assessments on DOW operations, plans, and strategies.
• Assess effectiveness of Geographic Combatant Commands’ overseas contingency plans with draft assessments outlining requirements.
• Facilitate and support detailed planning, research, and analysis for Counterterrorism and Counter-Violent Extremist Organizations contingency planning groups.
• Lead and support regional, trans-regional, and crisis action planning efforts in support of GCCs and USFK SOF requirements.
• Facilitate and lead USSOCOM’s Coordinating Authority in support of the Global Campaign Plan for Violent Extremist Organizations.
• Facilitate and lead Global Special Operations Synchronization in support of the Global Campaign Plan for Global Special Operations.
• Update the Global Special Operations Synchronization Process (GSOS).

HQUSSOCOM J35 - MacDill, AFB Tampa, FL

The J35 Future Operations Support SMEs will support the mission of providing future operations, crisis action and compartmented contingency planning to inform senior leader decision-making and support GCC/TSOC SOF specific planning requirements. These SMEs will also lead USSOCOM global synchronization of Department of War’s (DOW) trans-regional Counter-Violent Extremist Organizations (C-VEO) efforts by designing, and leading planning efforts and synchronization venues. In addition, they will lead the planning, development, and integration of new capabilities in support of future and current operations.

• Lead and support regional, trans-regional, and crisis action planning efforts in support of GCCs and USFK SOF requirements.
• Facilitate and lead USSOCOM’s “Coordinating Authority” responsibility in support of the Global Campaign Plan-Violent Extremist Organizations (GCP-V).
• Facilitate and lead Global Special Operations Synchronization (GSOS) in support of the Global Campaign Plan for Global Special Operations.
• Update the Global Special Operations Synchronization Process (GSOS).

Required Skills / Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience leading Joint Planning Group (JPG) discussions.
• 5 years’ experience in strategic‑level planning (e.g., operational design, military decision-making process, contingency plan development, etc.)
• Completed, one Joint Staff, combatant command, or multi‑national staff tour
• Graduate of a Joint Professional Military Education course, Intermediate Development Course, or a Senior Professional Military Education Course
• 10 years’ experience using communication skills, both written and oral, to include preparation of written products for senior leader (general officer/flag officer/senior executive service level) use and the ability to communicate at all levels in a highly professional manner

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Management, Administration, Program Management, Operations Research, Economics, or Social Sciences) – OR – Bachelor’s degree with 20 years of Military experience (the total number of years is inclusive of any military experience applied to the requirements described below).
• 15 years combined Joint, SOF, Interagency, and Regional experience working military operations to include special operations conducted in a joint, combined, and interagency environment
• Current DoW Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI access required
• Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $105,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
