Description:

J3 Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician

  • International Paper Columbus is seeking talented Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians with 5 or more years of industrial experience. Successful candidates will be eligible for a one-time $8,000 Hiring Bonus. Candidates who must relocate because their permanent address is at least 100 miles from the work location will be eligible for Relocation Assistance of up to $10,000.

Location and Pay Rate:

  • Columbus Cellulose Fibers (CCF): $47.76/hour
  • Columbus Modified Fiber (CMF): $47.76/hour

Shifts:

  • CCF Category: Hourly full-time, four-day 10-hour schedule (Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm), with every fourth Friday as an 8-hour day (7:00am-3:30pm). Includes a 12-hour rotating shift within the first three years, with a 28-day rotation of day/night shifts.
  • CMF Category: Hourly full-time, rotating 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) on a 28-day rotation, with potential to rotate to a 10-hour straight day schedule every 12 weeks.

The Job You Will Perform:

This position is responsible for scheduled and routine maintenance, including installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems, motor controls, relays, PLCs, DCS, and field instruments.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair various electrical and control systems
  • Maintain and calibrate instruments and analytical equipment
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
  • Follow safety regulations, including 70E standards
  • Communicate with operators during troubleshooting
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain work areas to a 5S standard
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • At least 5 years of industrial E&I maintenance experience
  • Experience with multi-skilled E&I maintenance and key operating systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year associate degree in related disciplines
  • Relevant industrial experience
  • Strong math and physics knowledge
