Job description

This team provides practice management coaching and consultations with experienced financial advisors in one-on-one, small group and large workshop settings, identifying areas of opportunity for growth within their books of business and helping them create action plans to execute effective book management and client engagement strategies. Other advisor coaching topics include incorporating goals-based financial planning as a foundational cornerstone of the practice, developing teaming arrangements, utilizing business development accounts for marketing and client events, cultivating organic referrals, growing center of influence (COI) networks, implementing effective digital marketing strategies on LinkedIn, and enacting strategies for engaging next-gen/legacy client relationships. You will also consult with regional and market-level leadership, helping them to upskill and coach advisors on these practice management behaviors.

As a Practice Management Consultant (PMC) for the Select Advisor Group you are responsible for supporting the development of experienced JP Morgan financial advisors with the delivery of practice management concepts and tools. You will support the growth of financial advisors by providing them with practice management concepts and tools. The Practice Management Consultant will guide advisors to enhance their businesses and deliver exceptional client experiences. You will guide advisors to strengthen their businesses by helping them deliver an exceptional client experience and be in a position for continued, long-term growth. You will help advisors develop a strong practice management foundation focusing on skills across leadership, business management, business development, financial planning, investments, relationship management and service.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver foundational practice management concepts and tools to financial advisors and field leadership via one-on-one, small group and large workshop settings
  2. Provide ongoing coaching and training to advisors to help them deliver an exceptional client experience and be in a position for continued, long-term growth
  3. Serve as a subject matter expert in leadership, business management, business development, financial planning, investments, relationship management and service skills
  4. Guide firm strategies and business development campaigns in the field
  5. Collaborate with home office and other field specialists as appropriate to assist advisors with significant client opportunities or situations
  6. Create strategic partnerships with divisional, regional and market leadership to identify focus areas of opportunity and drive the adoption of initiatives to achieve business goals
  7. Deliver effective communications to the field and various partners to drive awareness of new practice management initiatives and system updates
  8. Build training content including instructor-led training (ILT) decks, quick tips and recorded videos
  9. This role expects 50-70% travel, often requiring overnight stays
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
  1. 10+ years of experience in business development and sales experience in the wealth management industry
  2. Proficiency in goals-based financial planning tools and delivery, Salesforce CRM, LinkedIn, business development, marketing, book segmentation, client engagement strategies, client-reporting tools and advisor teaming relationships
  3. Ability to effectively coach and educate advisors at varying levels of knowledge and experience
  4. Proven leadership experience and ability to take ownership effectively partnering with others
  5. Foundational investment and product knowledge, including unified managed accounts (UMA), alternative investments and dollar-cost averaging
  6. Exceptional presentation and written skills with strong executive communications experience
  7. Series 7, Series 66 required
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
  1. CFP, WMCP, or other financial planning designations preferred
