Job summary

American IV seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to administer IVIG infusions in patients' homes, ensuring safety and high-quality care. The role requires prior IVIG experience and strong patient education skills, with a focus on infection control and coordinating with the care team.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, at least two years of nursing experience, and a background in home infusion or home health.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in [State].
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Prior IVIG infusion experience.
• Home infusion or home health experience.
• Strong IV insertion skills.
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Excellent critical thinking and patient education skills.
• Experience with specialty pharmacy or home infusion company.
• Knowledge of immunology or neurology infusion therapies.

Responsibilities

• Administer IVIG infusions in patients’ homes per physician orders and company protocols.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after infusion.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and manage infusion-related complications.
• Start and maintain peripheral IV lines; central line experience preferred.
• Educate patients and caregivers on medication, potential side effects, and self-care.
• Document infusion details and patient responses in EMR.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and care coordinators.
