Job summary

Montana State University seeks an Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Subject Matter Expert to lead testing and evaluation activities for diverse defense-related technologies in the Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub: Montana. You will design IV&V plans, execute assessments, and report readiness to stakeholders.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a STEM field with 7+ years of IV&V experience and knowledge of FCC/FAA requirements; DoW clearance and remote/on-site work in Bozeman are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of IV&V or test & evaluation experience supporting defense missions.
• Working knowledge of FCC and FAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead IV&V activities across domains such as autonomy, aviation, space, and communications.
• Design and execute IV&V plans aligned with defense mission requirements.
• Provide independent IV&V reports and readiness assessments to Hub leadership and partners.
• Advise companies on defense mission and regulatory requirements to facilitate technology transition.
• Coordinate with MSU research programs and regional test ranges for test infrastructure access.
