Job summary

Description:

Position Purpose:

At Saint Mary's Hospital, the IV Therapy Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient care by specializing in administering intravenous medicines, vitamins, or fluids.

What you will do:

• Insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other types of lines.
• Administer and monitor medications, blood products, and fluids, calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments.
• Collaborate with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure: Valid and current Connecticut RN licensure required.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience with PICC lines, Midlines, Port access/de-access, and placement of Peripheral sites.
• BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
