Role Overview
As an IV Technician, you will play a critical role in administering intravenous vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to clients, helping them optimize their health and well-being. This position requires strong venous access skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- IV Administration: Start and monitor IV therapy, ensuring safe and effective infusion.
- Client Monitoring: Assess physical health, monitor vital signs, and observe responses to treatment.
- Infection Control: Prevent and manage infections associated with IV therapy.
- Assessment: Conduct physical evaluations, including mental status assessments, and identify contraindications to IV therapy.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, therapy services, assessments, and treatment responses.
- Client Communication: Educate clients about their therapy, ensuring they feel informed and comfortable.
- Additional Duties: Support clinic operations by performing other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Must be credentialed as an RN (Registered Nurse).
- Experience: Minimum two years of experience in vascular access or IV infusion, with strong venous access skills.
- Required Knowledge: Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and medical practice functions. Expertise in venous access, with the ability to access peripheral veins effectively.
- Skills: Excellent intravenous catheter placement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and multitasking abilities. Customer service-oriented with a commitment to patient confidentiality. Self-motivated and capable of managing time effectively. Problem-solving abilities and independent judgment.
Working Conditions
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10-6 PM and Saturday/Sunday 10-5 PM. Minimum of four shifts per month required.
