Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare IV admixtures, unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy medications for critical care and OR satellite areas. The role ensures adequate stock levels and follows established procedures and regulations.

The technician may perform duties as needed to support the pharmacy and technical staff. Experience with IV admixtures is preferred; current state registration as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) is required upon hire, with PTCB

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or GED Required
Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred
PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
PTCB Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas.
Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice.
Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed
