Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area.
• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintains quality assurance per departmental and legal requirements.
• Participates in clinical initiatives to improve patient care.
• Trains new employees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Days, Monday-Friday

Hours: 8am-430pm

Overview

The IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Tech II performs the technician responsibilities of clinical home infusion pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

Duties

• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently
• Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions
• Participates in the training of new employees
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care
• Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
