Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 48 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under state law.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with students, parents and staff.
• Willingness to work in a demanding educational setting.
• Capable of using technology to manage data and reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with instructional and support services.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and activities.
• Provide small group instruction and supervision on buses or during field trips.
• Help maintain attendance, grades, and behavior records as directed.
• Support safety, hygiene, and health procedures for students.
• Assist with movement and positioning of students as required.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative classroom environment.
• Attend meetings and training as requested by the school.
