Job summary

West Virginia Department of Education is seeking a dedicated Instructional/Bus/Moderate/Personal Care Aide (Itinerant) to support students with intensive needs. The role involves direct personal care, mobility assistance, behavioral support, and collaboration with certified staff in inclusive settings.

You may transition from the T4 Academy to Stratton Elementary as needed, with full responsibility for health plans, safety procedures, and use of assistive devices, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities or challenging behaviors
• Ability to assist with daily living needs including toileting and feeding
• Willingness to follow health care and behavior plans under supervision

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and attend to personal care needs
• Implement health care and behavior plans
• Work with students in a team teaching setting under certified professionals
• Assist with positioning, lifting, and handling as directed by teachers
• Operate adaptive equipment and communication devices as trained
