Job summary

Eataly North America is seeking an Events and Education Chef to lead La Scuola programs on-site, teaching and planning culinary events. You will work with the Events and Education Team, training kitchen staff and coordinating menus for private and public groups.

The role requires strong cooking experience, Italian culinary knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple events while ensuring health and safety standards. Availability for evenings and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cooking experience with 1+ year in a management role.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, food production procedures, and safety and sanitation regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and enjoyment of speaking in front of large groups.
• In-depth knowledge of Italian cuisine and culture.
• Italian language skills highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach a wide variety of demonstration and hands-on classes for private and public groups.
• Plan and execute 3-4 course menus for events including breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
• Supervise prep cooks and line cooks; manage event kitchen staff.
• Ensure health and quality standards; oversee mise-en-place and cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Collaborate with education & events team and clients to plan menus and events.
• Procure or submit requisitions for food items and kitchen supplies.
