Job summary

Sprout is seeking an IT Hardware Technician to evaluate, test, and de-manufacture electronic equipment in a safety-conscious warehouse environment. You will ensure data erasure compliance, accurate inventory, and de-manufacture components per industry guidelines.

The role requires 2+ years in IT asset disposition or electronics recycling, familiarity with diagnostic tools, and a strong eye for detail. Lean certification is a plus; CompTIA A+/Network+ preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional ITAD or electronics recycling experience.
• Familiarity with testing tools and diagnostic software for electronic equipment.
• Experience with IT hardware components (CPUs, memory, storage).
• Knowledge of data erasure standards (NIST 800-88, ISO 27001).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Sort and evaluate electronic equipment (CPUs, GPUs, RAM, HDDs, SSDs, mobile devices).
• Maintain accurate records of materials using scan guns and manual entry systems.
• Conduct thorough testing of electronic components and sub-assemblies.
• Perform data erasure following standardized protocols with 0 data escapes.
• Disassemble (harvest) electronics into components per guidelines.
• Ensure precise inventory tracking and management.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace complying with safety protocols.
• Coordinate with team for smooth workflow transitions.
