Job summary

Oakland County’s Information Technology team seeks an IT User Support Specialist I to be the first point of contact for troubleshooting mobile technology and telecommunications. You will work with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues, ensuring County employees have reliable tools to serve the community.

The role emphasizes customer service, detailed documentation, and collaboration within a team that supports a wide range of devices and services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/BA/Public Administration or equivalent with 1 year mobile/telecom experience; or an Associate degree with 3 years experience; or a high school diploma with 5 years experience.
Valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
Must pass a background check as required by the County.

Responsibilities

Investigate and resolve issues with mobile devices, phone systems, and other telecommunications equipment.
Collaborate with vendors/service providers to resolve escalated problems.
Prepare wireless service orders and coordinate deployment of new wireless equipment.
Prepare telephone service orders and coordinate installation of new lines/equipment.
Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to internal users.
Maintain records and generate reports for supervisory use.
