Job summary

Oakland County is seeking an IT User Support Specialist I to be the first point of contact for mobile and telecom issues. The role supports hundreds of county employees, working with internal teams and external vendors to keep systems running smoothly.

You will investigate device problems, process service orders, and coordinate deployments while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining clear documentation for supervision and management.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a tech or admin field or equivalent.
• Ongoing mobile/telecom support experience (training, issuing equipment, help desk).
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer inquiries about hardware and software functionality and assist users.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware/software issues and track actions.
• Process wireless and telephone service orders and deployments.
• Maintain records, reports, and knowledge documents for management use.
• Provide clear customer service and keep users informed of changes and issues.
• Assist with manuals, guides, and procedures for IT services.
