  • Under broad supervision, conducts IT application training classes and develops/updates content for training materials. Owns assigned tasks.

Job Summary:

  • The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a candidate who can travel to District and Area Office locations in District 1 (Gainesville), District 2 (Tennille, GA), District 3 (Thomaston GA), and/or District 6 (Cartersville) to conduct on-premise classes several times a month and conduct classes remotely online through Microsoft Teams.

  • The job involves delivering IT training to GDOT staff (adult learners) on custom GDOT IT developed and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. GDOT will provide training on these products. The candidate will deliver training for desktop, web, and mobile applications, identify training needs, and develop content accordingly. Responsibilities include publishing training schedules in GDOT Learning Management System (Oracle/Workday), managing learner enrollments, testing, completions, and administering assessments. The candidate will also gather feedback through surveys, develop relationships within GDOT to increase class participation, and facilitate vendor-led training.
  • The candidate will develop and update IT training content such as PowerPoint presentations, Trainer Guides, User Manuals, Videos, and e-learning modules, engaging with technical staff for content creation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate 360/Storyline is highly desirable.
  • Additional responsibilities include recordkeeping, tracking activities, and ensuring data accuracy.
  • The role involves working as part of the GDOT IT Training Team, reporting to a Team Leader/Supervisor, and delivering statewide training on approximately 40 applications across various transportation topics.
