Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking an IT Technician to join our IT team in Phenix City, Alabama. You will actively support IT operations across the U.S. and troubleshoot issues by phone or remote tools, delivering a positive user experience.

Qualifications

• Two years’ computer and network problem-solving experience (commercial/large network environment a plus).
• Knowledge of Windows Desktop, Server operating systems, Microsoft Azure, and Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and Exchange.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
• Familiarity with remote connection to a business network: VPN, Wi-Fi, WANs, & LANs.
• CCNA and/or A+ certifications or equivalent education is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Actively support IT operations across the U.S. with strong PC and network knowledge.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technology issues by phone or remote-control tools.
• Communicate with users to provide positive results and user experience.
• Coach users in best-practice problem-solving methods.
• Build, diagnose, and repair PCs, laptops, and printers.
• Manage an inventory of computer components and supplies.
• Address concurrent issues with timely resolution.
• Understand file sharing, device sharing, and permissions.
• Troubleshoot network and Wi-Fi issues to completion.
• Work within a Help Desk across multiple time zones.
• Install and support Microsoft, IBM i, and other business software and licensing.
