Job summary

Tankersley Foodservice in Van Buren, AR is seeking an IT Technician to install, repair, and maintain computer hardware and software systems for office personnel and production facilities. You will provide technical assistance, training, and hands-on support onsite.

Responsibilities include loading software, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, coordinating with the help desk, and maintaining network wiring.

Qualifications

  • Vocational IT degree or IT certifications or 2 years IT experience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage projects independently.
  • Ability to multitask all levels of operations and daily tasks.
  • Strong communication and prioritization/time management to support IT needs of office personnel and production facility.
  • IP Camera and VOIP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Installs hardware and peripherals on user premises.
  • Loads specified software packages into computers.
  • Enters commands and verifies system operation.
  • Diagnoses hardware, software, and operator problems.
  • Trains users in equipment, software, and manuals.
  • Coordinates with help desk and network services.
  • Provides updates to manager and users via various channels.
  • Replaces defective software packages and refers major hardware problems.
  • Performs network maintenance and wiring for networked equipment.
  • Documents new tasks and improves current documentation.

Job description

Summary

Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises
  • Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer
  • Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation
  • Responds to co-worker inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems
  • Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals
  • Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems
  • Coordinates activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems groups
  • Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voicemail, e-mail, or in-person communication
  • Replaces defective or inadequate software packages
  • Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise with current systems and perform needed adjustments
  • Document new tasks needed to perform job duties and improve current documentation
  • Perform network maintenance with wiring and connections for network and attached equipment
Requirements
  • Vocational degree in Information Technology, certification such as CompTIA A+ or Net+, or 2 years' IT experience
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to manage projects independently
  • Ability to multitask all levels of operations and daily tasks
  • Strong communication and prioritization/time management skills with the ability to support the IT needs of office personnel and production facility (computer / tablet / phone / networking equipment setup and maintenance)
  • IP Camera and VOIP experience preferred
Location

This is not a remote position, this will be an in-office position.
