Job summary

Tankersley Food Service LLC is seeking an IT Technician to install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software, and to provide training and technical assistance to system users.

The role involves on-site duties including installing peripherals, loading software, diagnosing problems, and coordinating with IT teams to ensure smooth operation of office and production systems.

Qualifications

• Must have IT education or certifications or 2 years IT experience.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage projects independently.
• Ability to multitask all levels of operations and daily tasks.
• Strong communication and prioritization / time management skills for IT needs of office personnel and production facility.
• IP Camera and VOIP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs hardware and peripherals on user premises (monitors, keyboards, printers, disks).
• Loads specified software packages (operating systems, office apps).
• Verifies system operation by entering commands and observing functions.
• Responds to inquiries and troubleshoots hardware/software problems.
• Trains users in equipment/software use and manuals.
• Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
• Coordinates with help desk and network services teams.
• Provides updates to management and users via voicemail/email/in-person.
• Replaces faulty software; refers major hardware issues to service personnel.
• Troubleshoots system issues and performs necessary adjustments.
• Documents new tasks and improves documentation.
• Performs network maintenance with wiring and connections.

IT Technician

Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises.
• Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer.
• Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
• Responds to co-worker inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
• Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
• Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
• Coordinates activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems groups.
• Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
• Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
• Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise with current systems and perform needed adjustments.
• Document new tasks needed to perform job duties and improve current documentation.
• Perform network maintenance with wiring and connections for network and attached equipment.

Requirements

• Vocational degree in Information Technology, certification such as CompTIA A+ or Net+, or 2 years' IT experience.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to manage projects independently.
• Ability to multitask all levels of operations and daily tasks.
• Strong communication and prioritization / time management skills with the ability to support the IT needs of office personnel and production facility (computer / tablet / phone / networking equipment setup and maintenance).
• IP Camera and VOIP experience preferred.
