Job summary

Prestage Foods is hiring an IT Technician to serve as a help desk for our poultry processing plant. The role supports key plant systems including labeling printers, scales, traceability, QA software, inventory, shipping, PCs, VoIP phones, and network infrastructure.

You will work Monday–Friday, second shift from 2:00pm to 10:30pm with flexibility for overtime and weekends; an associate degree in IT or equivalent experience is required, with strong troubleshooting and customer service skills

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent IT experience.
• Experience repairing/troubleshooting computers, printers, VoIP phones, networks.
• Troubleshoots equipment and software in offices and production areas.
• Supports Windows and Office 365.
• Supports industrial scales, Sato printers, Zebra scanners, and inventory software.
• Supports access control and surveillance systems.
• Own tools; familiar with mechanical and low-voltage work.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong communication and multitasking in a high-speed environment.
• Willing to work holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide help desk support for plant systems (PCs, software, networks).
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues for office and production areas.
• Support labeling printers, scales, and inventory software.
• Assist with maintenance and core network infrastructure.
• Ensure PPE and safety protocols are followed on site.

Job description

Serves as a help desk technician for a poultry processing plant. The IT Technician will support key plant systems, including weighing scales, industrial labeling printers, weigh price labeling lines, traceability, inventory and QA software, shipping, maintenance, PC’s, VoIP phones, office printers, and core network infrastructure.

Work schedule of Monday through Friday, second shift with flexibility to work additional hours, holidays, and weekends, as needed.

2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm)

Experience

• Associate degree in I.T., related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in repairing/troubleshooting computers, printers, VoiP phones, networks and can apply these skills to similar machines & systems.
• Troubleshoots equipment and software issues in offices and production areas.
• Support and troubleshoot PC software such as MS Windows (10,11), MS Office 365
• Support and troubleshoot industrial scales, Sato industrial label printers and applicators, Zebra hand scanners, and inventory software.
• Support and troubleshoot access control and surveillance systems.
• Experience using tools for mechanical and electrical work related to the equipment. Must supply your own tools.
• Familiarity with mechanical and low-voltage work
• Has ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrate ability to multitask in a high-speed environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Demonstrate strong problem solution, analysis and customer service skills.
• Work some holidays and weekends if necessary.
• Wear required PPE such as hard hat, hair net, steel toe boots, ear plugs, and hair net.
