Job summary

Prestage Farms is seeking an IT Technician to support our poultry processing plant on the second shift. You will handle help desk duties and keep critical plant systems running, including scales, labeling printers, inventory and QA software, and the network.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in IT or related field, hands-on experience with Windows 10/11, MS Office 365, printers, scanners, VoIP, and industrial devices, plus the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work holidays/weekends as

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT or related field.
• Experience repairing/troubleshooting computers, printers, VoIP phones, networks.
• Troubleshoots equipment and software in offices and production areas.
• Support and troubleshoot PC software such as Windows 10/11 and Office 365.
• Support and troubleshoot industrial scales, Sato printers and Zebra scanners.
• Support and troubleshoot access control and surveillance systems.
• Experience using tools for mechanical and electrical work; must supply tools.
• Familiarity with mechanical and low-voltage work; able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a help desk technician for the poultry processing plant.
• Support key plant systems including scales, labeling printers, inventory, QA software, and shipping.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PCs, VoIP phones, printers, and network infrastructure.
• Assist with access control and surveillance system support; wear required PPE as needed.

Job description

Serves as a help desk technician for a poultry processing plant. The IT Technician will support key plant systems, including weighing scales, industrial labeling printers, weigh price labeling lines, traceability, inventory and QA software, shipping, maintenance, PC’s, VoIP phones, office printers, and core network infrastructure.

Work schedule of Monday through Friday, second shift with flexibility to work additional hours, holidays, and weekends, as needed.

2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm)

Experience

• Associate degree in I.T., related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in repairing/troubleshooting computers, printers, VoiP phones, networks and can apply these skills to similar machines & systems.
• Troubleshoots equipment and software issues in offices and production areas.
• Support and troubleshoot PC software such as MS Windows (10,11), MS Office 365
• Support and troubleshoot industrial scales, Sato industrial label printers and applicators, Zebra hand scanners, and inventory software.
• Support and troubleshoot access control and surveillance systems.
• Experience using tools for mechanical and electrical work related to the equipment. Must supply your own tools.
• Familiarity with mechanical and low-voltage work
• Has ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrate ability to multitask in a high-speed environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Demonstrate strong problem solution, analysis and customer service skills.
• Work some holidays and weekends if necessary.
• Wear required PPE such as hard hat, hair net, steel toe boots, ear plugs, and hair net.
