Job description

IT Technician

We need an experienced IT Technician at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Missouri (USAO-WDMO), based in Kansas City, MO. The USAO-WDMO relies on stable, well-supported technology to keep its attorneys and staff focused on federal criminal and civil casework. In this role, you will provide comprehensive IT support to USAO-WDMO personnel by resolving hardware, software, and system issues through phone, email, remote tools, or in-person assistance; manage and deploy mobile device management (MDM) solutions including iOS devices; support equipment relocations, vendor service calls, and enterprise-wide hardware and software rollouts; and maintain detailed records of support activity in the IT ticketing system. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides comprehensive IT support to all USAO WDMO personnel, ensuring reliable operation of end-user technology and services
  • Responds to end-user questions and resolves technical issues through remote support tools, phone, email, or in-person assistance
  • Assists and educates users in adjusting system or application configurations to improve productivity and ensure optimal use of software tools
  • Manages, deploys, and services mobile device management (MDM) solutions, including iOS devices
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance products, technologies, workflows, and operational approaches, and provides recommendations to government personnel
  • Troubleshoots hardware and software problems across various devices and platforms
  • Performs office IT equipment relocations, including computers, VoIP phones, printers, scanners, and related peripherals
  • Coordinates vendor service calls for hardware issues and escorts technicians to affected equipment as needed
  • Supports hardware and software rollouts and assists in implementation activities
  • Provides conference room technology support, including equipment setup and meeting coordination
  • Maintains detailed records of IT support activities, including issues encountered and corrective actions taken, using the IT support ticketing system
  • Collaborates with the Systems Manager and other IT personnel to maintain a secure, reliable, and efficient technology environment
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing end-user technical support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, configuring system and application settings, supporting equipment relocations and rollouts, and using mobile device management (MDM) tools
  • Strong customer service skills with a track record of timely issue resolution and adherence to IT policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma – required; Undergraduate degree – preferred
LOCATION
  • U.S. Attorney's Office, Kansas City, MO 64106
CLEARANCE
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Justice background investigation
  • Must be a US Citizen

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION
  • Employment Classification Eligibility – W2
RELOCATION
  • Not eligible for relocation benefits
COMPENSATION
  • Base Hourly Wage: $29.37 per hour
  • Health & Welfare (Benefits rate): $5.09 per hour
  • Total Hourly Compensation: $34.46 per hour
  • Benefits: Health & Welfare benefits contribution as required under the Service Contract Act (SCA); Benefits package includes options for health, dental and vision insurance coverage

Other Considerations

This position is W-2 only; no Corp-to-Corp or 1099 candidates. Relocation will not be offered. This position requires access to Department of Justice facilities and systems. As a condition of employment, selected candidates must complete and receive favorable adjudication from a federal government background investigation as required by the U.S. Department of Justice. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
