Job summary

SSP America, The Food Travel Experts, seeks an IT Systems Specialist – Restaurant Technology & Interfaces in Ashburn, VA. The role focuses on owning restaurant tech integrations, including Oracle Simphony and other POS systems, with up to 20% travel and a hybrid work setup.

You will troubleshoot APIs, data flows, and system interfaces, and collaborate with Operations and IT to deploy and stabilize new solutions across North America.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in restaurant technology, POS systems, IT systems support, application integrations, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of integrated and distributed systems and how applications exchange data.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting APIs, data flows, application logs, and system interfaces.
• Experience with enterprise POS platforms; Oracle Simphony or Micros RES 3700 strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, LANs, VLANs, databases, and operating systems.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues and drive technical projects to completion.

• Support Technology Deployments: Coordinate activities for openings, upgrades, and post-launch stabilization.
• Improve Processes: Create technical documentation, identify recurring issues, and improve reliability.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems, connecting systems, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.

Working closely with our Field IT Systems Architect, you'll play a key role in supporting and improving the technology that powers our airport restaurants. You'll independently manage technical challenges, support system integrations, and help deliver new technology initiatives while contributing to a growing focus on internally developed solutions.

What You'll Do

• Own Technical Projects: Drive assigned projects from planning through execution, coordinating testing, configuration, deployment, documentation, and transition to support.

• Support Technology Deployments: Coordinate and execute assigned technical activities for restaurant openings, system upgrades, implementations, and post-launch stabilization.
• Improve Processes: Develop technical documentation, identify recurring issues, and recommend improvements that strengthen system reliability.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in restaurant technology, POS systems, IT systems support, application integrations, or a related technical field.
