Job summary

The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in Princeton, NJ has an immediate opening for a Computer Systems Support Administrator. This role provides technical and operational support for computers, peripherals, and audio-visual systems, with potential hours outside regular schedules.

Qualifications include a BS in CS or related field (or high school diploma with three years of IT support) and experience with Linux; strong networking skills (Ethernet, TCP/IP) are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field with one year minimum experience supporting microcomputer software, hardware, peripherals, networks and user support; or high school diploma with three years of experience.
• Experience with Linux desired; Microsoft OS experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, network cabling and remote access methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Responds to Helpdesk Requests and Change Requests following SOP; troubleshoots and resolves operational deficiencies in operating systems and application software.
• Provides operational support; performs administrative tasks including warranty/license maintenance, records management, configuration management, office administration, scripting SOP problem resolution guides, conference schedules, IT inventory, and audio-visual systems.
