Saab, Inc. is seeking a motivated IT Systems Co-Op to support the design, documentation, and enhancement of enterprise and development network environments in Syracuse, NY.

The role targets students pursuing IT/CS/Cybersecurity degrees and emphasizes secure, scalable development network operations. The Winter/Spring 2027 term (January–May, full-time) and the Summer 2027 term (May–August, full-time) offer hands-on experience with network diagrams, access controls, and collaboration with senior IT

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program in IT/CS/Cybersecurity or related field.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, VLANs and basic system architecture.
• Experience with diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io).
• Familiarity with Windows or Linux system administration concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical information and present recommendations.
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking in a structured environment.
• Interest in infrastructure design and secure network operations.

Responsabilités

• Develop, update, and maintain network diagrams and system architecture documentation for development and production environments.
• Assist with ongoing vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Support evaluations of system access requirements and document access needs within development networks.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff to research and recommend network, hardware, and system configuration improvements.
• Participate in technical assessments of development environments to ensure standards and security alignment.
• Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of basic network or system components under guidance (VLANs, routing, VMs, lab equipment).
• Communicate technical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support IT infrastructure and systems engineering projects, including upgrades and documentation improvements.
