The candidate deploys, configures, and monitors network equipment, manages Active Directory and VOIP/Microsoft 365 users, and supports end-users with training and policy implementation. Schedule Mon–Fri, 8:00–5:30, starting pay $37.31/hour.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in computer science, engineering, or an IT network-related field is required.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting networks.
  • CompTIA Network+ or Windows Server certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up new networks and maintaining/upgrading existing networks (VPNs and routers).
  • Evaluating, monitoring, and maximizing network performance.
  • Updating and configuring virus protection software and other programs to keep network secure.
  • Troubleshooting errors in software, hardware configuration, communications equipment, and fixing problems.
  • Installing and configuring computer systems and network equipment, including LANs, WANs and communication systems.
  • Managing users in VOIP systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Communicating updates and problems to end-users.
  • Provide training and coordinate implementation of system, policy, and procedures to end-users.
  • Preemptively determining Mission’s software and hardware needs.
  • Work with vendors or other departments to analyze network or system problems and resolve related issues.
  • Attend and participate in all Mission, Division and Department meetings and training, as required.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary

The IT Systems Administrator I is responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware, software, and communication devices that comprise the mission network. This normally includes deploying, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring active network equipment. In addition, this position will concentrate on the overall integrity of the network, server deployment, security, and ensure that the network connectivity throughout the UGM’s LAN/WAN, and Wi‑Fi infrastructure is on par with technical considerations at the network level and pre‑established access controls.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00AM - 5:30PM

Target starting pay: $37.31/hour

How you will serve

How you qualify
  • An associate’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an IT network‑related field is required.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting networks.
  • Experience in digital communications is highly preferred.
  • CompTIA Network+ or any Microsoft certifications in Windows Server/Client preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time in a temperature‑controlled environment. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms.Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds and walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the company. Requires frequent use of cognitive abilities including frequent memory recall and occasional decision making. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
