Job summary

Powerus is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to build, operate, and maintain the information technology infrastructure at its Rock Hill manufacturing facility. This on-site role will own Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, and physical security systems across the enterprise and OT networks.

You will work independently as the sole IT presence on-site, coordinating with operational technology staff and facility management to ensure reliable, secure technology

Qualifications

• Must be located in the United States, within commuting distance of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
• Three or more years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, routing, switching, firewall rules, and wireless networking.
• Experience deploying and maintaining network infrastructure in a physical facility, including structured cabling, rack‑and‑stack, and equipment commissioning.
• Ability to work independently as the sole IT administrator at a site, managing priorities across enterprise, production, and security systems.
• U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)); this role involves access to ITAR- and EAR-controlled technical data.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services.
• Manage Microsoft 365 tenant configuration, user provisioning, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams administration.
• Design, deploy, and maintain local network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and site-to-site VPN.
• Enforce network segmentation between enterprise IT, OT, and physical security network zones.
• Administer IP-based physical security systems, including video management platforms, IP cameras, access control, and badge systems.
• Support OT network segments carrying PLC, SCADA, and HMI traffic in coordination with manufacturing and controls engineering.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain audio-visual and conferencing systems in conference rooms and production-floor areas.
• Manage endpoint deployment, imaging, patching, and software distribution for Windows workstations and mobile devices.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for on‑premises and cloud systems.
• Monitor systems and network health, respond to alerts, and perform root-cause analysis on outages and degraded performance.
• Manage IT vendor relationships, service contracts, procurement, and hardware lifecycle.
• Maintain documentation for network topology, system configurations, SOPs, and change logs.
• Support cybersecurity policy implementation consistent with NIST and CMMC frameworks as applicable.

About the Role

Position OverviewPowerus is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to build, operate, and maintain the information technology infrastructure at its Rock Hill manufacturing facility. This role has day-to-day ownership of enterprise IT systems, network infrastructure, physical security technology, audio-visual systems, and coordination with operational technology staff on industrial network segments. The IT Systems Administrator will be the sole dedicated IT presence on-site and is expected to work independently across all facility technology domains.

• This is not a single-domain administration role. The facility runs production equipment, processes controlled technical data, and operates physical security systems, and all of it depends on infrastructure that this position owns.
