Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

100% ONSITE

IT Systems Admin (Linux and Unix)
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  1. Manage, monitor, and maintain Unix/Linux and Windows servers across on-premises and cloud environments.
  2. Perform system updates, patches, and configuration changes to ensure optimal performance and security compliance.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
  4. Administer Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy in Windows environments.
  5. Oversee Unix/Linux services like NFS, SSH, FTP, and cron jobs.
  6. Ensure seamless interoperability between Unix/Linux and Windows systems.
  7. Implement and maintain system performance monitoring tools.
  8. Analyze logs and metrics to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  9. Create and manage automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python to improve system efficiency.
  10. Automate routine tasks, such as deployments and backups.
  11. Implement and enforce system security best practices, including vulnerability management and remediation.
  12. Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
  13. Manage access control and identity management systems.
  14. Develop, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for critical systems.
  15. Perform regular data backups and restoration testing.
  16. Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
  17. Provide training and support to junior staff and end-users as required.
  18. Perform other duties as requested or assigned by management.

Knowledge and Skills:
  1. 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux and Windows system administration.
