MetroNational Corporation in Houston, TX is seeking an IT Support Technician to assist the IT Support Technician Lead and provide proactive user and systems support across computers, email, phone, and networks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, basic knowledge supporting Windows devices, at least 3 years in an IT department (5 years a plus), and willingness to work weekends or after hours as needed. Real estate industry experience is a plus.

The IT Support Technician works with the IT Support Technician Lead to provide technical assistance and support to the company and its employees. The successful candidate will maintain and provide efficient support for any IT system resources, such as computers, email, phone, and networks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the setup, configuration, repair, break/fix, moves/add/changes, and integration of new and existing computing hardware, software, and other computer-related technologies and peripherals
  • Track, manage, and own technology support requests received daily.
  • Leverage all required support teams to resolve support issues and provide clear, professional, and timely updates to employees and IT staff
  • On-call availability to respond to support requests and flexible work schedule to respond to the needs of the business
  • Must be a self-starter who requires only limited supervision/guidance, able to work independently and autonomously
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment in the storage room to comply with department standards
  • Continuously develop and enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities through various learning channels to expand technical and non-technical capabilities
  • Conducts user training during and after system implementation
  • Provides ongoing maintenance of computer and electronic systems
  • Ability to work weekends or after hours, as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or as needed to support the needs of the department

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Basic knowledge and experience supporting devices in a Windows environment required
  • 3 years of experience working in an IT department. 5 years is a plus
  • Experience in the real estate and property management industry is a plus

Vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to operate an automobile for after-hours, on-call duty and obtaining parts, completing errands in support of IT operations. Must be able to move freely throughout the campus, including moving up and down stairs.
  • Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks and duties outlined above. Must be able to work in outdoor environments that may include extreme temperatures and heights.
