Job summary

HDR is seeking an IT Support Specialist II to provide direct technical support to end users, resolve network, hardware and software issues, and maintain enterprise applications. This on-site role supports 24/7 operations with fixed shifts 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, plus on-call flexibility.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of PC/network/server technical support, strong customer service, and familiarity with Windows 11/M365. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support of PC, networks and servers.
  • Excellent working knowledge of personal computer and peripherals.
  • Experience in systems operations and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent client service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-starter able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Schedule & Presence: This on-site role supports 24/7 operations through real-time collaboration, standard shifts occur within a 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM window, Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position requires scheduled on-call flexibility and the ability to remain reasonably reachable during off-hours for critical business continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to users by responding to incoming requests for IT support and resolving network, hardware and software issues with computers
  • Perform technical maintenance and software installations and updates
  • Ability to apply technology to address business needs
  • Assisting staff to achieve efficient and effective use of computing technology and maximize utilization of computer resources
  • Combine a breadth of IT experience with an overarching concern for excellent customer service
  • Participate in enterprise-wide IT projects and initiatives
  • Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems
  • Provide desk side assistance upon request for enterprise applications
  • Responsible to request hardware and software through the requisition system
  • Provide hardware, software, mobile device, and printing support
  • Assist with the inventory management of all IT assets
  • Communicate technical support topics or issues of interest
  • Work with Systems Administrators in performing IT infrastructure processes and procedures as needed
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting on complicated IT issues
  • Serve as an example to junior staff when it comes to complicated technical issues
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • This position may require up to 15% travel for scheduled activities

In the role of IT Support Specialist II, we'll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, ProjectWise and/or GIS
  • This position may include travel
  • Working knowledge of Windows 11/M365.
  • Knowledge of A&E Industry
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science/MIS-related area or equivalent work experience
