Job summary

Livingston Public Schools is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support to staff, students and parents, in person and remotely, to ensure that school and classroom technology use and curriculum integration efforts are fully supported.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Computer Science or related field and/or industry recognized certification (CompTIA ITF+ or A+).
• Experience with operation, maintenance, and repair of desktop computers, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets and peripherals.
• Experience with Windows Desktop/Server, Mac OS, iOS, and Chrome OS.
• Experience with Office 365 and G Suite.
• Experience with audiovisual equipment and classroom peripherals including interactive whiteboards, document cameras and wireless projection devices.
• Experience with a work order tracking system.
• Must be motivated with strong problem-solving, communication, customer service, technical, organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid substitute certificate from the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to staff, students, and parents in person and remotely.
• Support school and classroom technology use and curriculum integration.
• Maintain and repair desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets and peripherals.
• Support audiovisual equipment and classroom devices such as interactive whiteboards and document cameras.
• Utilize the work order tracking system to manage requests.

Livingston Public Schools has an anticipated opening for an IT Support Specialist toprovide technical support to various stakeholders, including staff, students, and parents, in person and remotely, to ensure that school and classroom technology use and curriculum integration efforts are fully supported.

Qualifications include:

1. Associates degree in Computer Science or related field and/or industry recognized certification (CompTIAITF+or A+) desired.
2. Experience with the operation, maintenance, upgrading, and repair of desktop computers, laptop computers, Chromebooks, tablets, and related peripheral devices.
3. Experience with various operating systems, including Windows Desktop/Server, Mac OS, iOS, and Chrome OS.
4. Experience with productivity applications, including Office 365 and G Suite.
5. Experience with the operation, maintenance, and repair of audiovisual equipment and other peripheral classroom equipment including interactive whiteboards, document cameras and wireless projection devices.
6. Experience in the effective utilization of a work order tracking system.
7. Must be motivated and self-directed with superior problem-solving, communication, customer service, technical, organizational, and leadership skills.
8. Ability to acquire and maintain a valid substitute certificate from the State of New Jersey.
