Job summary

Rune Technologies, a fast-growing defense tech company in the United States, is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join its IT team. The role offers hands-on experience across endpoint management, identity, networking, security, and cloud infrastructure in a rapidly evolving environment.

You will work directly with the IT Manager to support employees, maintain systems, devices, and infrastructure, and help expand the IT operations as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT support, Help Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Operations.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
• Experience supporting macOS devices in a business environment.
• Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for endpoint administration.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
• Basic understanding of firewall concepts, network security principles, and access control.
• Experience with endpoint management, software deployment, and device lifecycle management.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, operating systems, and cloud applications.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support for Windows and macOS.
• Provision, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Manage user accounts, licensing, and security policies within Microsoft 365.
• Support identity and access management, including Okta, MFA, and Single Sign-On.
• Assist with endpoint management using Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms, including macOS device management.
• Monitor and maintain endpoint compliance, software deployments, and security configurations.
• Perform hardware inventory management, asset tracking, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot networking issues involving Wi‑Fi, VPN connectivity, DNS, DHCP, and endpoint connectivity.
• Assist with firewall administration, network security best practices, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Support SaaS application administration, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Create and maintain IT documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in security initiatives including patch management, endpoint protection, and security awareness.
• Escalate complex issues when appropriate while maintaining excellent communication with end users.
• Assist with IT projects, infrastructure improvements, and process automation initiatives.
