Job summary
Amazon is seeking an IT Support Engineer I for Ops Tech Solutions in North Andover, MA. You will implement technical solutions and provide high-quality support for computer hardware, OS, and enterprise applications, troubleshooting routine problems and adhering to SOPs where applicable.
You will help ensure infrastructure availability, support cross-building customers, manage local projects, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives while traveling as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of professional IT experience.
- 2+ years troubleshooting in multi-user, high-availability environments.
- 2+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSL).
- 2+ years PC repair, deployment, and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Network engineering and troubleshooting across various software/hardware environments.
- Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems are available during production hours.
- Provide analytical and technical assistance for IT solutions and continuous improvement.
- Manage local technical projects and create/update policies/procedures.
- Travel within local/regional area to support customers; work shifts up to 12 hours.

As an IT Support Engineer I, you will use your knowledge and specialized skills to implement technical solutions and provide high quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, or enterprise application software. You are able to determine when it is appropriate to deviate from a standard practice to accomplish the desired result. You can troubleshoot and solve straightforward problems that do not have defined SOPs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling and systems administration in a variety of software and hardware environments.
- Ensuring infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
- Interacting with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
- Managing local technical projects.
- Maintaining or creating policies, procedures, and processes.
- Identifying root‑causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
- Moving up to 49lbs as well as standing and walking during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
- Supporting customers from multiple buildings in the area, as well as remote customers.
- Traveling within your local or regional area to support our customers.
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 2+ years of professional experience
- 2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi‑user high availability environment experience
- 2+ years of networking (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP) experience
- 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation experience
- 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
- Fluent in Cisco/networking and either Linux and/or Microsoft
- Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
- Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
- Experience communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Can show strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision
