Job summary

Dayspring Academy in Pasco County, FL, seeks an IT Support Technician to maintain and troubleshoot the school’s hardware, software, and network needs. You will provide front-line help desk support to students, teachers, and staff in a busy in-person environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in tech support, a high school diploma (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred), and may hold CompTIA A+ certification. Fingerprinting and background screening are required.

Qualifications

  • Fingerprinting and background screening required.
  • High school diploma required; related degree preferred.
  • Proficient with email, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a technical support role preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for students, teachers, and staff.
  • Help Desk Support: Provide front-line assistance via phone, email, or in-person to address IT-related inquiries and problems.
  • Network Maintenance: Ensure the school’s computer network is operational, perform regular maintenance, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, printers, and other hardware devices.
  • Software Installation and Updates: Install, update, and troubleshoot software applications used in educational environments.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the school’s IT infrastructure, including antivirus software and firewalls.
  • Classroom Technology Integration: Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into the classroom, ensuring that educational tools and software are effectively utilized.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of IT assets, maintain an updated inventory, and assist with procurement of new equipment as needed.
  • User Training: Conduct training sessions for faculty and students on basic IT skills and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

Requirements


  • All employees must be fingerprinted and pass a background screening process by the Clearinghouse.

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

  • Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

  • Working knowledge of technology equipment to include hardware repair, software installation, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Comptia A+ (Preferred).

  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical support role.

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes.

  • Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.

  • Must be able to stand for long hours.

  • Physical requirements: Must be able to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
