Job summary

CenterPoint Energy in Houston is seeking an IT Intern currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program. The role involves assisting analysts, administrators, and engineers across IT focus areas such as Cloud, Infrastructure, AI, Data & Analytics, and Web & Mobile.

You will gain hands-on project experience and present progress to key stakeholders. Eligible students must maintain a 3.0 GPA, hold a valid driver’s license, and be available for a full-time internship.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing Bachelor's in IT with 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, OS and networking.
• Proactive problem solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

You will represent our IT organization by assisting and collaborating with analysts, administrators, engineers, team members, and leaders within one of the IT focus areas: Cloud, Infrastructure, AI, Data & Analytics, Web & Mobile, etc., at CenterPoint Energy.

Essential Functions

• Assist and collaborate with analysts, administrators, engineers, team members, and leaders with a variety of IT projects
• Provide project completion data and presentation to all key stakeholders
• Participate in activities and meetings

Education Description

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing Bachelor's degree in an IT field from an accredited college or university
• Sophomores, Juniors
• 3.0 GPA minimum

Experience

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common productivity tools
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
