Job summary

CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Gas Engineer Summer Intern to join our Houston team. You will assist engineers with a variety of projects related to gas utility design, operations, and safety.

Current full-time students pursuing an ABET-accredited BS in Industrial, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply. No prior work experience is required, and a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student (sophomore, junior or senior preferred) pursuing an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist designers in project design activities.
• Research the status of various public improvement projects.
• Update Access databases and Excel spreadsheets concerning project status.
• Provide project completion data for public improvement projects.

Education Description

• Currently enrolled as a full‑time student (sophomore, Junior or Senior preferred) with a strong GPA pursuing an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree preferably in Industrial, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

• No previous experience is required


• Valid driver's license required
