Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking an IT Director to lead technology strategy, align long-range goals with statewide priorities, and oversee IT operations, planning, and major initiatives. The role ensures collaboration across divisions and effective program governance.

Responsibilities include directing policy development, budgeting, and vendor negotiations, while mentoring Deputy IT Directors and staff to deliver within scope and schedule.

Formación

• Thorough knowledge of state agency operations.
• Extensive experience in state government management.
• Ability to negotiate complex, large-sum agreements with agencies and vendors.
• Ability to frame policy implications for technical management.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to delegate, direct, and develop teams.

Responsabilidades

• Establish current and long-range technology goals aligned to the agency mission.
• Lead policy discussions and planning for the future of IT within the agency.
• Set policies, review IT processes, and select strategies for systems.
• Act as liaison between information systems and other agency functions.
• Supervise IT directors, managers, and staff or provide direction.
• Provide technical guidance for major plans and procedures.
• Analyze business needs and research new IT technologies.
• Represent the IT division in internal and external events.
• Participate in budgeting with agency executives for IT.
• Oversee IT projects through lifecycle within budget and schedule.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop staff with clear expectations.
• Set performance expectations and ensure quality and deadlines.
