Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking an IT Staff Auditor to join the Risk & Control Services team in Minneapolis. The role plans and executes audit activities and SOX/MAR/FDICIA compliance, presenting objectives and results to management to strengthen governance and risk controls.

We value collaboration in-office four days a week with one day for remote work. The role emphasizes developing core audit skills, business knowledge, and the ability to travel as needed within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Execute portions of the Risk & Control Services plan, including audit activities and SOX/MAR/FDICIA compliance.
  • Present objectives and results to various levels of management.
  • Monitor Management Action Plans and close out deficiencies when actions are complete.
  • Coordinate with control groups and meet established timelines.

The individual in this role will plan and execute portions of the Risk & Control Services plan, including audit activities and SOX/MAR/FDICIA compliance activities, present objectives and results to various levels of management. Execute on a structured approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Identify control deficiencies, assess exposure and significance, and propose cost effective recommendations.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute portions of the Risk & Control Services plan, including audit activities and SOX/MAR/FDICIA compliance activities. Present objectives and results to various levels of management. Execute on a structured approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.Identify control deficiencies, assess exposure and significance, and propose cost effective recommendations.Monitor and validate Management Action Plan status and recommend closure of Management ActionPlans when actions are complete and identified deficiencies have been addressed.Coordinate with appropriate control groups in planning and executing assigned work. Complete work within established timelines. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
